Chakra is a concept referring to wheel-like vortices which, according to traditional Indian medicine, are believed to exist in the surface of the etheric double of man. The Chakras are said to be “force centers” or whorls of energy permeating, from a point on the physical body, the layers of the subtle bodies in an ever-increasing fan-shaped formation. Rotating vortices of subtle matter, they are considered the focal points for the reception and transmission of energies. Different systems posit a varying number of chakras; the most well known system in the West is that of seven chakras. It is typical for chakras to be depicted as either flower-like or wheel-like. In the former, “petals” are shown around the perimeter of a circle. In the latter, spokes divide the circle into segments that make the chakra resemble a wheel (or “chakra”). Each chakra possesses a specific number of segments or petals.
Chakras, as described above, are energy centers along the spine located at major branchings of the human nervous system, beginning at the base of the spinal column and moving upward to the top of the skull, through which pass 3 major energy channels, Sushumna, Ida and Pingala. Chakras are considered to be a point or nexus of biophysical energy or prana of the human body. Shumsky states that “prana is the basic component of your subtle body, your energy field, and the entire chakra system…the key to life and source of energy in the universe.”
The following seven primary chakras are commonly described:
Muladhara  Base or Root Chakra (ovaries/prostate)
Swadhisthana  Sacral Chakra (last bone in spinal cord, the coccyx)
Manipura  Solar Plexus Chakra (navel area)
Anahata  Heart Chakra (heart area)
Vishuddha  Throat Chakra (throat and neck area)
Ajna  Brow or Third Eye Chakra (pineal gland or third eye)
Sahasrara  Crown Chakra (top of the head; ‘soft spot’ of a newborn)
Each chakra needs to be able to function at the correct frequency independently. Each needs to be balanced, clear, energized, and properly spinning. Each time all the chakras reach a level of unison the entire physical vibration of the human body is raised.
Each chakra has a different frequency of vibration, symbol, color, and sound that it is attuned to. When the chakra is balanced, clear, and energized it would be in tune and play the most wonderful sound of it’s own, emitting the proper vibration for that chakra. Many things can effect the vibrations including sounds of voice, drums, music, chants, mantras,  the vibrational energy of colors, and of course gemstones. All colors and sounds are vibrations and using the sounds and colors of the chakras assist them in becoming aligned and balanced. The colors of the chakras are that of the rainbow; starting at the root chakra black/red, orange, yellow, green/pink, light blue, indigo, and violet/white for the seventh chakra; as shown in the picture above.
Think of a scale of one to ten, with ten being the highest and best. Next, think of each chakra needing to be at the same number on that scale. Once each individual chakra is at the same number your entire physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual body raises into its own new vibrational level to match that of the chakras. The more chakra energy work you do the higher your whole body will be raised on this scale with ten being enlightenment while still in this physical human form.
When your chakras are not vibrating or spinning properly you are unable to move your physical, emotional, and mental body onto a higher spiritual level. When we are born we can have a perfect balance or have an imbalance from the past lives we bring with our spirit.  Although the human body is just a vessel and a machine it is seldom broke from manufacturer reasons and natural biological causes. Each chakra effects different parts of the body and almost all illness is caused by poor chakra health. Chakra Healing  Illness is usually for us, or those around us, to learn higher lessons. You are given intuition and hints all the time about what you should be doing and how you should be living but we often ignore the words from Spirit and our higher selves. We are too often stuck in the reality and physicality of life to listen to our inner selves. Eventually, the chakras become out of balance and since you are stuck in the reality -  the chakra manifests the energy imbalance into the physical; the health of your physical body.
When you have chakra blocks you slow down the Chi, the life force, and the spiritual connection. You may feel depressed, out of touch, like you lost something, tired, unable to clearly think, or listless. You may get angry for no reason, be afraid, be unsure of yourself, lack self-confidence, be unhappy without a direct understood reason, and have a general negative outlook on life. All of these are indications that you have a problem to resolve that is chakra based.
It is important that you try to maintain the correct energy flow through each chakra since you could also negatively be effected by a chakra being too open. Remember that balance in each, and balance in all in comparison to one another is what you seek. When the chakras are aligned on the kunilini and balanced the energy flows freely from the primal base to the spiritual chakra allowing us a grounded connection to a higher spiritual communication. Think of each chakra as a water valve and your goal is to have each on the same amount so the ULEK flows through the kunilini, uninhibited and constant.
Chakra clearing:
Meditation: This is a perfect process to clear the chakras which allows the flow of energy in a positive direction. Calmly settle down on a small place and start meditation.
Concentrate on the blocked chakra and start breathing. Breathe in through nose and hold it for 7 seconds repeat this for few times. Insight meditation will help you for chakra clearing.
Reiki: By using reiki for chakra clearing, you can remove the energy related to traumas and you will no longer feel any pain related to the chakra’s organs.
Help of a physician: A tutor in chakras will have the power in chakra clearing. A practitioner or a guru in chakra clearing can see you and say what are the blocked chakras in you. They will help you in clearing your chakras.
Chakra clearing session can last up to 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending upon the blockages of energy in the chakra.
Chakra clearing will give a large array of benefits such as:
Removing all negative energies and blockages in the body.
Promoting natural healing.
Balancing the energies in the body.
Enhancing personal awareness.
Promoting creativity.
Releasing blocked and suppressed feeling.
Balancing organs and their bodily functions.
Strengthening immunity system.
Aiding meditation and positive thinking.
Relaxation of stress.
Chakra meditation is the meditation given to chakras.
Chakras are some of the focal points present in our body for energy. Chakras are affected either consciously or unconsciously in reality and realize the events which open out before you. Chakra meditation carried out by seven different chakras: For doing chakra meditation, you sit erect such that your spine should be straight and head in alignment with your body. The place in which you do meditation technique should be comfortable and relaxed. Then you can start your meditation.
Meditation through Root chakra: Root chakra is present in the base of spine. For doing this chakra meditation, first you have to take deep breath that reaches into very base of your spine. When you release air, the entire muscles, toes, feet and legs feel relax.
Meditation through Sacral chakra: Naval chakra is located in the lower abdomen. By keeping root chakra open, take deep breath. You have to breathe in such a way that it reaches to the sexual and reproductory organs. Then you can feel relax in genital, buttocks, abdomen, hips and pelvis muscles.
Meditation through Solar plexus chakra: Solar plexus chakra is present just above navel and below chest. In this meditation, inhalation is directly done up to your center of gravity (centre of belly). This meditation controls digestion, oxygen and nutrients catalyze and release heat.
Meditation through Heart chakra: Heart chakra is present at the centre of the chest. In this chakra meditation, you should take deep breath and feel your heart strong and in this meditation you feel the reopening of previous levels.
Meditation through Throat chakra: Throat chakra is present in the throat area between your chin and top of the sternum. In this meditation, you take breath forcefully through all the above levels, then you can feel relax and soften your tongue, vocal cords, epiglottis, neck muscles, shoulders, arms and hands. You can feel energy in your thyroid at the back of neck and throughout the upper respiratory tract.
Meditation through Brow chakra: Brow chakra is located in the fore head, right above your eyes. With throat chakra, the opening for sixth chakra happens and this lifts your attention at the centre of eye brows. This makes you feel relax deeply and you can feel your head transparent.
Meditation through Crown chakra: Crown chakra is located at the very top of your head. This involves pituitary and thalamus glands deep in your brain. This makes your brain free from unwanted thoughts.
Chakra meditation is done when you want to recharge your body. It enhances your memory power, concentration and makes you free from tension whole day. This is very easy and simple. This chakra meditation can be done at your home or any comfortable place.
